Wow Ray! This is beautiful !I love the white egret and the way you posed it as it looks up! Very well rendered with accurate shape and structure . I love the feathers on its crown , it appears to be standing up on a wooden boardwalk above the water and I appreciate the reflections, it appears to be a background full of very tall green grass type plants. This is beautifully arranged in the vertical format. Well presented with such excellent attention to the details.
This is truly a pleasure to view!

Hi Ray, This reminded of the time My friend and I were on the boardwalk at one of the nature places we go. A great blue heron was fishing there when some Canadian geese and their newly hatched goslings swam in. It was twilight so I don't think the geese knew he was there, When they discovered him they attacked! They chased him off. I hadn't thought about it but I guess the heron might have gone after one of their chicks. Glad that didn't happen!
Looks like you might have a heron or egret here. Love the tall grasses that surround him. Looks like he's almost stargazing. Nicely done and fun to view! :o) Nancy

Nancy, I was thinking heron. Birds can be vicious and mean and they definitely protect their young. Thank yo for your wonderful review I am glad you like it.

I like it. My first thought was a crane in the corn patch. Once I saw the bridge and reflections it took on the reed's vibe instead of corn. I remember how the Sandhill Cranes loved the corn fields in Wisconsin. Colors and interest level are great. I like how you added the four bolts to add detail to the walk bridge. Good job :)

Cindy, Thank you for your wonderful review and compliments. When I was younger I remember seeing a crane on a boardwalk. A lot of my work is about things I have encountered throughout my life. I am so glad you enjoy it. Ray

I love your artworks like this. You know I am not a big abstract fan but I still love your work. This is closer to what I would hang on my walls. It's a wonderful artwork. The colors on the black background are striking and help the bird stand out more so. LOVELY!!

Lynn, I am so glad you enjoy this. I use to spend my summers by the shore and there was a board walk there that I would walk every night.
That is how I got the title. I drew the vertical green weeds and then the board walk. Then I thought that a tall white bird would fit the bill :). Thank you so much for your wonderful review, rating and compliments. I am glad I was able to be in your wheel house. Ray
