I can see that it is a long time since you posted this the first time, but good art never fade, and I am sure the winning of the Blue contest was well deserved. Shades of blue is exactly what we are seeing in this painting, and they are truly lovely. Apart from the lovely colors, you have also got a very nice shine and light into the small waves rolling in.
It is such a nice mood in this painting due to the moon added, and I can also see very good brush strokes. A little details I like a lot is the silver lining given to the clouds.
This is a straight forward composition, but I like the placement of the horizon so that most of the painting is showing the sea. I think this is a beautiful and well done painting.

Not at all surprised this won the contest. The breakers are expertly painted with perfect high lights from the moon's light. Gorgeous throughout. cainse

Your ocean images are fantastic, so real with the exceptional way to make me feel standing in the waters looking at the rolling waves - handsome composition, beautiful soft and transparent blues - your color technique is beautiful - amazing is details and in live movements, your shades and light application is fantastic, creating such a wonderful motion and natural ocean flow - super job, thanks for sharing

O.k, I see why you won this is great. I live in the part of New Zealand that is green rolling hills and I don't often get to see this. You did a brilliant job and I didn't think you could do such a great image with one colour but you have proven me wrong. Good job.

I know practically nothing about painting but I had to look twice to determine that this was not a photograph (the highest compliment that a Philistine can give!)
My only criticism (perhaps not valid) is that there is an awful of of Blue!
Even so, I would be proud to have this hanging on my wall!
The waves appear realistic, very much so, but the tonal contrast with the sky could be augmented

Yes, it was for the competition BLUE so that's why there is a lot of blue in it! Thank you for your review.

GREAT, what else is there to say! Lighting, color harmony, peacefulness, technique, all are wonderful. I can almost hear the sea... I also hear music looking at your picture. Thanks so much for capturing it so well.

Very nice work in blue for sure. Love the brushwork, the sense of movement of the waves, the reflection on the water from the moon/sun and the textures that you have included.

Blue is my favorite color, so what's not to love about this? You could have just painted the whole canvas blue and called it a day, like in the pop art sections of the art museums. (I never did understand those paintings.) Anyway, I digress. The different nuances of blues are spectacular from the shades of the darkening twilight to the deep blue ocean. I love the moon's reflection on the incoming tide, and how you changed the color of the water as it became deeper. Just a lovely, lovely painting, and one that I would be proud to hang in my home. Good luck in the contest.
