I almost thought this was a photo looking at the thumbnail, only to find out that this is a truly lovely digital painting of a black bird. I especially like how well the eye is done, because it gives the bird such a life like expression.
You have also brought out fine textures in the background, but think the rock you have included just above the bird's head could have been dropped. It is almost a distraction where it is placed.
The bird is however done paying good attention to details and with fine shadings in the black feathers. I think the hint of blue is very effective.
I also think the image is nicely frame, and the bird has got a very fine placement off to the right. I think this is a lovely and well done digital painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you very much for your review and your input. I go to work on the stone soon the contest is over. The stone was on my background scratches. I just never thought for dropping it, when I added the bird.

Wow...what a beautiful painting. Color contrast is delightful. Green grass is effective to enhance the beauty of the black bird. Details and expression of the bird are well painted.
