I just love the mystical view you created. How land and sky and their colors melting into each other is intriguing. The de-rooted tree and the bird on top ad some reality, but it is an otherworldly reality, not quite earthen. I can see the little bird is alive, but I would like him a bit crisper, less covered with fog.

Right back at ya! Not a chance to hang on to the six stars today.
I love this photo because it has
So much to offer the viewer.
First off it is perfectly framed and well presented. Couldn't be better. Secondly, a beautifully colored sky with tones that draw the viewers eyes to the center of the shot
And let's them expand outward in both directions. Thirdly the silhouetted tree with exceptional and unique branching surrounded by the most eiry and extremely appealing mist. Oh and of course the lovely bird at the top of it all. Definitely created for and meant to be photographed by you. Simply magnificent work Steve.
The only thing I can say is I hope it does well in Bird contest, since I really like the tree a little better,
Best of luck in the contest my friend.

Thank you so very much Marsha. I appreciate your wonderfully artistic comments. I appreciate that you 'see' this scene as not all see and appreciate the nuances. Your reviews are always very important and I am truly honored with your Grand rating. Thank you again Marsha ~ Steve

Your spot on focus on the stark tree gives this a artistic feeling to your scene. The sunset almost secondary in this shot also beautiful giving gorgeous colors from the sunset. I love the lone bird a nice touch to your scene almost a rebirth. Good artists notes....and storytelling with your photography. You are right when a scene like this presents it self all your do is push the button....and maybe 25 more times. Beautiful colors, composition and wonderful moment in time to capture. Thanks for sharing these wonderful scenes Steve. Good luck in the contest.

You captured a wonderful scene! The dead tree is a great perch for the bluebird and the colors in the background are beautiful. You did a great job with the filters.
I've been to the Midway Geyser Basin. It's an amazing place!

What a great image. I love the composition. The exposure is good and the colors you refined really create a wonderful mood. Even though the sky and bird become the focus, The detail in the foreground really give it depth. Thanks for sharing.

Between the natural setting and your filters you accomplished the ethereal feel superbly, Steve. The starkness of the dead tree with bird fit right in to that feel. Composed artistically and to take advantage of every aspect of the scene. Very well done and a cool initial impact.

Pleased to enjoy. The softness of light, the diffused pastelness of color, those woven branches, the white branched arch! All bringing us into a surreal heaven. Your bird on tree is gorgeous!
