At a glance this does not appear to have a lot of detail. I would not have known it had anything to do with the water if you had not mentioned it in the notes. It actually just looks like a shadow around the seal. I think I would have liked to have seen a bit more detail in the head area. It appears the pen and ink has worked well for you here. I know how this technique works as we have one of wolves hanging on our wall. It is an awesome technique. I find here though it does not show that kind of detail very well. Probably the size of the image and the dark areas.

Yes this is really good.
Didnt realise it was done with dots till I read your message,
very cleverly done.
Quite hard work to do I should think...years ago a friend had one done of Mohammed Ali when he was young ..fantastic.
Well done with yours!

I know this was a lot of work.
I did stipple a lot.
Basically this is very nice, but it is not finished.
It is too gray.
You need to add some darks here and there.
Right now it is flat.
You could try it on the computer.
That way you would not over do it.
Look at your reference and squint your eyes.
Than should help.

What a wonderful work. Detail, clarity. The look in his eye is very intense. Initial impact draws you in to the finer details of the piece. Great job.

Great drawing. This is another style of drawing that always fascinates me....pointism. You did a lovely job with its features. You feel the light atop his head and with the lines below you see he is just above water. The white areas make me think it's ice. His little breather hole. Good luck with it! Annie

Brilliant use of the medium. I admire how you created the seals' whiskers. The composition is dead-on perfect including the utilization of the white space. A case where the end justifies the means. This image is worth the obvious time and effort it took to create.

This is an excellent artwork. I hope you get top recognition for your hardwork. I would have liked to see more water element here considering that you are entering if for a water theme based contest. Good luck

    Roopam,
I think it has two water elements in the composition, the seal and the water behind and ripples around his neck. thanks for the review and the comments witin it , I appreciate both, take care and cheers!

Comment from buckeye

Nice image, although dark, may have been the scan. The details look ok, but hard to see. I find the cropping alittle off, looks like on the right side part of his neck is gone.
