Very beautiful portrait and yes it does convey romance, love,and a sense of immense peace. Very good facial features, good shading and balance between light and dark areas. Satiny look of the dress is amazing. Great presentation. Outstanding what you have done with pencil...Wish I had a six for you.

I am so grateful for your wonderful review. I wanted this picture to convey the gentle softness of simplicity. Her dress is simple, her gaze is simple, and her hair is starkly pulled back from her face to allow her eyes to be the center of the picture.

I spoke today to an artist on another site who believes that an artist should just create what pleases the artist, but I always begin a work with the thought of pleasing other people with it. I want perfection. I guess it must have something to do with ego. I feed off of positive reviews. I could never be so relaxed in my art to let go and enjoy the feel of creating. I am just pleased when the work that I finish is well accepted. Thank you for your wonder critique. It means the world to me.

You know that the innosence, and demure attitude of a chaste young woman is always displayed by a bit of reluctance. Thus, I felt that she should be simple, and beautiful, and stand/offish. You saw that by the off/center positioning. Thank you for your wonderful review.
