Another excellent job, of great beauty and amazing details. The eyes really are the windows of soul, where lean out all the sentiments and emotions. She is a beautiful young, and love the satiny texture of the dressed, great lighting and the facial expression. Well done

Linda, this is another stunning drawing by you. I love the details shown in her body structure folds in the dress muscle tone and of coarse those eyes are mesmerizing. Great contrasts and as always, perfection.

Do you want a truthful critic? The truthful - She is beautiful and young and you have captured her piercing youthful gaze. Her eyes are clear and focused. The eyes and all the features are well done. The angles between her nose eyes and lips match up like a true person's face. As a drawing this is very good because your shading is really well done. The gradient tones from light to dark are extremely well done. The folds on her gown have a realistic quality.
Now The critic (Sorry -don't get frustrated -learn) - Watch your proportions - the top of her ears should be the same level of her eyes not her eye brows. Her neck looks swollen on her right side. You have your light coming in on her left but your background is darker on her left then the background on the right. The bun or flower also on the left should show more light. Her hairline looks as if it has receded on the left and her hair looks extremely thin and flattened to her head.
Do you do any other mediums then graphite pencil? Do you ever do anything with color?

Dear Mama, I don't do color. This is my heartfelt medium. You are so critical. How is your art. May I examine and be brutally hones with you.

Dear Mama, I thank you for being so honest about your perception of my art.
reply by Mamafogs on 02-Dec-2014
I would love to see you do color and try painting something like this. May I challenge you to try. Yes I hope you can be honest in your critics of my work, I won't be offended. Critiquing work true purpose is to show you the areas you need to work on.
I only can critic a person art who I see as a true artist and you are a true artist. Sincerely mamafogs

Look at your ears in the mirror. You may be surprised to see where they measure up. Sincerely. The top of my ears are not near my eyes. Be honest.

My ears do and most peoples do. If a person is looking straight at you and their is not pointed down (no shadow under chin) take a piece of paper with a straight edge an lay it across the top of the lid of the eyes not the points the top of the curve and the edges of the paper will touch the top of the ears. If they are looking down the they appear higher but not above the brow. It's like if you draw a line over certain points of the human face they will appear in a straight line between points. i.e. the 4 corners of the eye form a straight line. The bottom of the ear to the bottom of the nose if you continue the line will touch the opposite side of the mouth. check it out on a few faces. There are rare occurances where this does not happen but nine times out of ten it does. Leonardo Da Vinci I believe was the first person to point out the simitry between points on the body and the face if you stretch out your arms and measure from finger tip to finger tip it will measure the same as your height.

Thank you for pointing this out to me. I will definitely keep this in mind for future references. I appreciate your expertise in drawing. Your work is superb and you definitely know what you are talking about.

Your welcome. Your work you have presented here is of a very high quality. You know you are one of the better artist on the site and I would really love to see you do a piece in color or painted even you have the talent to accomplish so much more, don't limit yourself to one medium - explore.

I don't feel limited. This is my heart. God gave me visions, before I ever started drawing. Visions of light and shadows, all in black and white. He has taken me further and deeper into this medium. Most of my work is to honor Christ. I draw to bring people closer to Him.

I am glad you have found your passion it does show in the work you present. I think your work is amazing I just hope to encourage you to try something different. I am not saying to stop what you do already. Just a little encouragement that's all.

Time to get rid of more sixes. And guess where they are going. To my favourite graphite master. Needs no comment for it's absolutely perfect

Dearest Friend, I thank you for viewing my work as a whole. Your critique is so welcome, and you are always so generous.

I look at these drawings and wonder how you draw something like this with a pencil or that's what I assume you do not being an artist. The detail in my opinion in this drawing is so clear and precise with lovely highlights and clean lines.

Wow, another super picture! I believe I could study this face for hours. What a complex and interesting study. The textures seem to my untrained eye perfect. She reminds me of a movie star but I can't remember who. I hate saying this, but it is clearly a 6+ but, although only Tuesday, I'm out. I owe you one! Cheers, JR. Keep 'em coming.
