Indeed, "eyes and the windows of the soul." Prominence of facial features, especially the expressive eyes and the full lips. This looks like a 3D. Those shoulder blades and bony neckline looks so real. She looks determined, and a hint of sadness in her eyes. Love the hairdo and outfit. Another work of a genius, showing great techniques , style, and expertise. A joy to view.

What a gorgeous young woman. Yes... it's those eyes.

Her simple dress, hair, and perfect skin all serve to accentuate her beautiful face.

Dearest Dick, you understand about the off centered framing. It is important to draw the viewers gaze through the picture. You are an artist.

Perfect title and wonderful portrait design and you are so right this face shows exactly a mixture of all the emotions you have pointed out - there are always many aspects at the same time giving a mixture of feelings at any moment - your expressive face is fantastic, accurate genuine, perfection pure in technical skills, your talent speaks alone as every design you deliver is masterly done into the most fine details, shadow and light application are excellent, DOF and luminosity fabulous, a beautiful work, stands out in perfection, thanks for sharing

What an exemplary review. Detailed and excellent. I am honored that you took the time to delve into this piece, and explain your views.

The eyes are beautiful. The face is beautiful. The lips are surpassingly so. The neck is right and the anatomy is true, i.e. right on the mark, couldn´t ask for more! Two things are off, however: 1. the contrast is pale, 2. the woman´s left shoulder is missing. Correct those two deficiencies with a new photo of this work and I promise to give it a 6 next Sunday. Good luck.

Oliver, what contrast. How is it pale, please explain. I really want to know. I have shadowed the background the best I could with a pencil. I have highlighted the dress the best I could. What do you mean. I intentionally cut the shoulder off for affect. Off centered. Please explain what you mean.

Linda, sometimes I just start typing a review before I think the whole thing through. I did the very same thing with sliding an image off to the side for effect, so it was stupid of me to say center it. Concerning contrast, when I do a pencil drawing and it doesn´t look dark or contrasted enough I pick up a charcoal pencil or stick of charcoal and make it black as midnight which is what I find people want to see... no such thing as too black in my book. Hope these explanations help. I probably should restrict my comments to positives only but I find that so hard to do sometimes. How about you? Please don´t take any reviewer´s comments too seriously. After all, your opinion is the only one that counts anyway!

Oliver, thank you. You didn't need to explain. But I appreciate very much.
