Great composition, detail, shading, and use of highlights. This seems really life-like yet I can easily distinguish it from a photograph. Very nice work with graphite here. Do you work in charcoal too? It would be easier to strengthen the value scale that way. The highlights are wonderful but the shadows are weak.

Dear Skyborne, I don't use Charcoal. Years ago I began to draw, and I was lead by the Lord in my work. Before my daughter died I didn't even know how to draw. But God gave me this outlet. I honor Him with my work. Pencil is the medium He has chosen for me.

This one is looking really good,Linda! :)
I can't offer you much in the way of an agreement regarding the
'theory' you mention in the notes accompanying this one,but I'm certainly enjoying the image! :)

Wow, Wow.I can not believe this created be a pencil and not a camera. The felling that I get from the eyes and face. This was one that I want to say thank you for giving me the privilege of seeing. I just wish I could get this from my camera. The only wish is They would allow me to give it a 10. Thank you for sharing this again. Dale

This is awesome! It looks like black and white photography. The details are fantastic. I don't know if there is any intention of placing this model not in the middle of the frame, of cutting a half of her left arm. Maybe it is symbolic?
Well done. thanks for sharing.

Comment from Ocean Jules
Beautiful drawing. Love the arch of her right (left on paper) eyebrow and the overall softness. I would have liked to have seen a little more space between the top of her head and the frame, but overall it is stunning. Nice job creating the shimmer to her gown.

So very true that the eyes are the heart of the soul. Did you know that you can take a picture of someone and cover the face from cheeks down and tell if they are happy or sad. The is excellent Linda, you do such amazing drawings and this is so beautiful, don't let anyone ever tell you that what you do is wrong or bad. Bravo my dear.

Dearest LM. Thank you for the words that you have said to me. I have taken some flack for my work. I appreciate your faith in my work.
-
Linda, I totally understand the flack as I also receive it as well. I sometimes get heart broken but then I have to remember that sometimes they just don't get it. I trust you will be strong and I will remember you in my prayers. God Bless dear friend. Lynn
Comment from Life is but a dream.
I like your crop on this and the composition.
It's difficult for me to review your work as I run out of superlatives.
YES the tonal ranges are perfect and the shadow effect is smack on. It is rendered softly and marries well with the image.
Excellent.
