She is a beauty and you have captured her essence very nicely. good focus, clarity and detail on the primary subject and just enough background to let you know she lives in the tree.

Nice snake I like the color. The background is a little distracting to me. Maybe a different angle would have made a difference. I like the vibrant green of your subject.

Thank you for your friendly review.
There is a problem with a different angle. There are only seconds to do a shot as this. These little guys are very fast and not often to see. A shot can't get set up. Never know where and when you see one. I got the shot only because I had the camera in hand when I saw her.

Very true maybe next time, by no means do I think that isn't a great shot. A fast creature that is in focus is always a great catch.

This is a nice image. I like the depth of field you created here and the lighting and colors are very nice as well. Composition makes him stand out well.

Great capture, i'm glad you said it wasn't dangerous because you appear very close. Color is great as well as the center of interest. Lighting and presentation is very good.

Thank you so much arthound, for your kind and generous review.
Yes she is very gentle. She would only try to bite in danger of her own life.

I'm like Indiana Jones -- I hate snakes. But I must admit that this is quite a pretty one. You've caught excellent detail on the snakes skin and the background emphasizes the color of the skin. Very nice composition.

Thank you for your generous review. I know many people have trouble with snakes. But this one a the humans friend. It eat bugs including the nasty mosquitoes what could give a Dengue and Malaria.

Cleo - I like this picture a lot. The subject is interesting, the colors are great, the composition is well done, good DOF; an all-around very good picture. If I may make a suggestion it would be about focus...the clearest and most detailed part of the snake is where her scales start to diminish in size, about where the brown stripe begins behind the top of her head. I know these shots cannot be "set up" and you have to hope for the best outcome, but it would be a better image if her face and eye were a bit sharper and more in focus than her neck.
It's a very nice shot...good for you!

Your picture has great initial impact, and I think your portrait of the green headed snake is very nice. The colors are brilliant, the background is not distracting, and the lighting is very good.

Very nice photo... Very simple and pleasant. The green against snake sure does stand out against the background. You have done a good job with this one. Jerry
