Hi all, I am back just for a short time, I wanted to review a little and escape from reality of being a new father, and spending countless hours and days in the hospital to tend to my new son who is in the special nursery. I hope you appreciate the review and I will return again at a later date.

This is a great idea and has a lot of feeling to it. You can see the love between the mother and child. It seems very grainy/pixalated to me, though, which does take a lot away from the detail of the image. I like the crop. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much for your kind review. I think I overdid what I was trying. It didn't works out as intended. I intently toke the details away, added contrast and darkened the picture from left to right. I wanted the mother in a semi silhouette and light and some detail only on the child's face according to the quotation I used.

Nice work with the light, I like the intimacy and mood you have captured. Color work is first rate. The image for me presents as expressive. I especially enjoyed the reflection in the sunglasses. Well done on this superb work.

Thank you very much for your kind review.
The reflection in those glasses is really something. actually I had to darken it since it came out so strong and color full that it toke over the whole picture. If it wouldn't be so small it would have made a beautiful picture itself.

Its a lovely composition, i like the silhouetted baby and the guy, lovely concept and your presentation, a bit blury, try to sharpen it and it would look much much better. All the best for the contest :)

    Thanks for your kind review.
Upps! I blurred it in purpose to give it the soft appearance. I realise it doesn't work.

Really love the composition here. You have captured such a precious moment and one so many of us have experienced with a child over the years. Great story telling. The photo is coming off a little grainy though.

Thanks for you nice review. Somehow I haven't archived what I tryed to do. I wanted mom in almost silhouette and the sun only on the child's face and that on a soft image according to the text. I'm affraid I have overdone darken it and contrast. I should have taken the sepia version.

I can definitely see where you were going and it is very striking to have the little one lit and mom in silhouette. Perhaps you could try just tracing around around mom and changing her lighting? Sometimes that comes out smoother than using the burn tool. I have a program called Photo Explosion which makes selective areas fairly easy to work with, either that or it's just that I have had that program the longest and am just comfortable with it. The Corel programs are new to me since I joined FAR and I am still learning them.
At any rate your photo's subject and message are great.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll charge for the photo explosion. I didn't used Corel here but Digital Image Suite [Picture it]. There is a selective tool but it doesn't work well. I still cut and past for selection. The Corel is new to me too. Through I have to learn how to use it I find much more difficult to find out how they call what I wan't to use. Everything seams to have a different name there, even the paint brushes.

So true! And there are so many choices. I feel that it will take me a long time to really use everything!

I can see what you're trying to do here, the composition is good helping to define the relationship. However there are a couple of issues I have. Firstly, the subjects don;'t appear to be in sharp focus. Secondly, I think the exposure should be up or down either giving detail or silhouette, this sits in the middle and leaves me uncertain.

Thanks for your kind review. I tryed something what may isn't possible. I wanted mom as silhouette but the kids face touched by the sun with some but not to many details but still soft. I tried to darken gradually from left to right without using mixed media. Proably I wanted to much. I schould have taken my sepia version but liked to see how the effect is on reviewers, Thanks, we learn with our mistakes.

What a strong, powerful portrait.
Your title described this shot perfectly.
The warmth of the sun hitting the little girls face as she stares out into the 'unknown' is great. Her little hand in front of her mouth is a nice touch.
Your composition and lighting is perfect - I love it.
All in all, a wonderful shot. Well done.

Thank you for your kind and generous review. You are about the only who did see what I was trying to show. I'm affraid according to most of the reviews that it didn't came out as planed and my message didn't go out for the most part. But thanks to you I know now that I'm not completely wrong. Thank you.

This is a nice creative shot Cleo, the semi silhouette of the subjects works well with the lighting. The pure white background doesn't work for me, maybe a soft gray or toned down dark red color would have a stronger impact. The soft focus works for this shot, just doesn't have the wow factor. Good job!!!

Thanks Clyde, for your kind review. I tryed some what I evidently didn't accomplished. You are right with the semi silhouette. I wanted everything as an silhouette but the kids face.
The original background was light grayish blue and didn't worked it all. Since I had to darken the image anyway I tryed some kind of high key since I didn't want to incorporate mixed media what I would have to do giving a different color. Thanks for your suggestion I'll work with it.
