This is a beautiful picture, excellently done. Your subject matter, which provokes a lot of feeling and emotion, is wonderful. I also like your lights and shadows.

One thing - the baby's chin seems a little off. What do you think?

The baby's chin is probably a bit off. I will have to go back and check it out.

    Dear Ben,
I am so sorry that you will be moving on. I understand why, though. This is a fine site, but time makes us strive for new horizans. I appreciate your support and your kindnesses.

I have been waiting forever for your new art work, and you did not disappoint me. Soft, emotional and heartfelt. What every mother and child must feel and look like when gazing at each other, so much wonderful detail and wonderful imagery. Awesome

I appreciate so much your very kind remarks. I value, and need the kind of feedback you've given me. Unfortunately, I do not have the dollars to keep my art on the front page of this website. So it falls into the darkroom, never to be seen again. I don't have enough time to evaluate the other works, I must work. So the little reviews I do recieve are wonderful. Thank you so much.

Ok my last six star for right now. I really like this piece. This is really beautiful in more ways than one. The expressions are number one!

I want to thank you for taking the time to look at the work that I do, and for giving me a 6 star. How very kind of you. I worked hard on this portrait of the Lord. I mostly wanted to glorify Him. I think that I could have done better, but for some reason, it just doesn't look the way I wanted it to look. Maybe this is a way to keep humble. I pray that the next work that I do will do justice to the excellence of the Lord. May the Lord Jesus bless you for your wonderful review.

This is a really cool sketch, good job capturing the star in the corner, and such good lighting on the mom and baby, the baby looks strangely mature for his small size, i think it's the facial features. good though.

    Dear Tallsasquatch,
Maybe the look of maturity comes from the fact that this is God Almighty. Or maybe, the look comes from the fact that I am mere man, and not able to make perfect images with a pencil. I am disappointed in this myself. I so wanted it to be perfect, as it is a portrait of my most beloved. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to look at my work and actually critique it. You are a true artist, and a brave one at that. God bless you for the review. Have a wonderful 2009, as I know that this will be the most glorious year ever.

This is a beautiful and especially poignant image of a mother with her son. What deeper emotion could be expressed that this? You have done a marvelous job of depictng the wonder on the mother's face and the curiousity of the infant. I love it.

    Dearest donnarose,
I wanted to depict the image of the Savior, and His mother, as she tries to contemplate the fact that the baby she has given birth to is actually her creator and her savior. 'Being a mere human, in the flesh, I doubt that her mind could conceive what had actually happened, but, I imagine her spirit knew. How fantastic to think that in her arms rested her God. The maker of all. This to me would be too hard to conceive. This was her son. Love beyond all that she had ever known. I couldn't depict it in the way that I wanted to. Maybe the next portrait will be closer to the image I want to draw. Thank you for taking the time to review and to critique my work. You are a true artist friend. God bless you in this new year. We know that God holds the keys to eternity, and we are part of that due to Jesus Christ.

    Linda,
What a wonderful response. Have you read the book, "The Shack" by William Young? I am reading it now, so my reaction isn't final yet, but some of the things you said reminded me of things in that book. God bless you in the new year.

I am just finishing "The Shack". Strange, isn't it, that you would be reading it at the exact same time. Have you ever heard of Jack Hayford. I want to encourage you to look for him on the internet, and investigate his ministry. A man, truly in-tune with the truth. He speaks, and my spirit sits up and takes notice, and is refreshed with the words of the Holy Spirit. The Rivers of the Almighty, flowing through my soul, filling me anew with the Words of Life. Jesus Christ, Almighty God.
We will continue to talk, to share, and to find fulfillment in the enrichment of our spirits.
