A difficult task to execute. Im surprised you managed to incorporate so many colours I dont think I would have been brave enough to attempt that. Very interesting project. Jenny

    Jenny,
Salutation, Happy New year... yes, they do look like they are floating, flowing effortlessly across the paper, as they did across the stage. . these were very interesting circumstances, a great experience and so I wanted to try a capture the whole mood of the dance in each piece I drew. I did not want to crop out what I actually saw, a blank stage that all of a sudden came to live. With lighting shifts, the rhythmic plus of the audio and the motion and movement of the dancers. thank you for your time and the review of my work on this effort, very much appreciated on all counts... take care and cheers!

This is so cool. The focus is clear and the angle is great. I love the look that pleases the eye. Really nice composition and subject matter.

Wonderful pastel art, with vibrancy and passionate movement, Lucien. I like the brilliant colors and the beauty of the female form of the dancer. I missed the elves, but the dancer is VERY NICE. Wonderful!!

    Mike,
Salutation, Happy New year... the elves are the brown stick figures, those shapes represent the elves, she was th focal point, they were supporting characters. I wanted to try a capture the whoele mood of the dance in each piece I drew. I did not want to crop out what I actually saw, a blank stage that all of a sudden came to live. With lighting shifts, the rhythmic plus of the audio and the motion and movement of the dancers. thank you for your time and the review of my work on this effort, very much appreciated on all counts... take care and cheers!

Very nice expressive pastel drawing here Lucien. The color scheme is lovely to look at and I do feel movement here. I just had trouble with the one foot that I underlined and the dot under her chin. In dance, it's the feet that are the main element. The idea to keep the face blank was a good one and let's the viewer concentrate on the flow of movement. I don't see the elves. I wound up seeing a sad face. Just my eyes. lol This is certainly a different direction from you and a nice one to see. Keep going. Annie

    Annie,
Salutation, Happy New year... do you see the stick brown lines, they represent the elves in this. I wanted to try a capture the whole mood of the dance in each piece the drew. With lighting shifts, the rhythmic plus of the audio and the motion and movement of the dancers. thank you for your time and the review of my work on this effort, very much appreciated on all counts... take care and cheers!

She looks like a belly dancer! In July every year they hold the Utah Shakespearean Festival here in Cedar City. When it opens they have the renaissance Fair here at the park. They have belly dancers who come from around the world to perform. I always take my kids, and actually bought my 8 year old daughter a belly dancer costume. You can feel the motion in this picture. I tried it with here, and I was stiff for two days. It's more work than you would think! Thanks for sharing, Lucien! Great work, with simple forms! Peace, Julie

THE FLUIDITY IS THERE BUT THE FORM OF THE ARMS ARE REALLY QUITE DISTRACTING LOOK AT THE BEND OF THE LEFT FOREARM AND THE FEET THEY SHOULD BE SWITCHED LOOKS LIKE THE RIGHT FOOT SHOULD BE KICKING OUT BUT THE WAY THEY ARE THE HIP JUST NEEDS TO BE TURNED MORE SOMETHING JUST DON'T LOOK RIGHT IN THE FEET I LIKE THE COLORS THAT YOU USED IN THIS PIECE IT AL MOST SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU LIKE HIDING HER FACE AS A MATTER OF FACT THE COLORS THAT YOU CHOSE FOR THE BACK GROUND DON'T GO VERY WELL TOGETHER AT ALL TO MUCH SHADING ON THE ARMS THEY LOOK ALL DISTORTED LIKE THE OUTFIT AND THE WAY YOU DID THE CREASES THE REST OF THE BODY LOOKS PROPORTIONED ARTHOUND CHERRIO

    Arthound,
Salutationsa, and I am sorry you did not like this drawing, i do hope you understand this is an abstract rendering and not meant to be a realistiic representation of the human form, but a flowing display of colors and movement, and as such a distorted human form. thansk you for the look and the comments, i appreciate thme all...I the hope you will continue to look and comment on my future postings... take care and cheers!
