Thought provoking poignant piece of art, giving out the message that all problems we face each day are linked. I like the metallic look you have given to this photo. colours are subtle, gothic arch interesting with what looks like an eye.

Great initial impact because of the chain. I have seen your art work for many days now, but I have waited to review because I think you deserve six stars for the beautiful colors and the importance of the subject you have expressed so well in you art work. Great light showing me the person behind the chains, -a great composition as well. I'm sorry, but I think the person has to fight her/his need, love, hate, envy.... to break the chain to feel free from being enslaved by life itself. Thank you so much for sharing "Enslaved"! Karin.

I have looked at this picture several times in the last days but I have to admit I'm probably still very far from fully understanding it in all it's complexity. It is evident how much effort you put into this metaphor: thoughts, emotion and hours on the computer. You are rewarded with an artwork of immense impact on a viewer. It is a metaphor what send the viewer into it's own world of thoughts and emotions more asking than answering what is unusual in our time were the generated answers are often provided on a silver platter.
The picture reminds me very much of Mozart's "Zauberflote". It seams to be the same Metaphor everybody has to understand in its own way. ["Magical Flute", I don't know the correct English name for the opera]. Maybe it is the symbolism reminding on Mason symbols like the pyramid with the eye.
You created a true masterpiece. Your artistic abilities are equaled by your outstanding technique. I'm not sure how you created the piece but for sure what ever you did is efficient. It seams to me to be a photo or maybe two merged photos. The background looks like painted silk offering the light and shadows and beautiful colors of live. A door to open. (?). The partly grainy appearance seams to be part of the silk paint but deepens the emotional impact. A most beautiful chain on top, golden and rusty at once, putting its shadow on the silk-world protecting or sealing the door (?)
This work of art should be hang in a Museum.

I'm not sure where you get the "whole gambit" of surviving out of this piece. Artistically I think it is a very nice piece. I do like the colors and it all goes well together. Nice work.

Thank you so very much for the excellent review, AP. Actually it was more the title I was speaking of rather than the painting.

Very nice, unique piece! Name is very fitting. Nice presentation. I love the compositional layout of the subject matter and negative space! Great color usage also. The blue color adds interest with the other colors and the chains are nice elements especially with placement of the eye. Great job!

I like the gritty, rusty look the rings upon closer inspection, and I also like the angle you used here. Very realistic. However the grittiness of the background colours doesn't work as well in my mind... Still, overall a powerful image.
Is this an edited photo, or digital art?

The background was a photo, Mike. The gritty, rusty links of chain are mine. :) Thank you so much for the excellent review!

This is an interesting piece of photographic MM artwork Shawn, the composition is good and the lighting with the play of shadows is nice. The heavy grain effect with some pixel like areas doesn't work for me. For me there is no real focus point in this presentation. The offset blue areas are a nice addition, just not a big impact. All in all a good job!!
