Beautiful seascape painting. I feel myself actually breathing in the misty ocean air when I view your artwork here. Your painting technique has portrayed the foaming moving water waves very realistically. The ocean is also perfectly highlighted by the light of the moon which shines on the ocean.
Seascapes also inspire a lot of my artworks. Please browse my Portfolio and view my "beach themed" artworks whenever you have the time. Thank you.
You are a very talented and gifted artist.

Wow such a strong impact upon viewing. I've lived near the ocean all my life and just love it. I totally miss it when I'm away. Even the smell. I love the color "Blue" of the sky meeting the ocean, yet so natural. Its not just blue, it's BLUE. I see many shades and such awesome detail. I can really feel this one with the motion of the waves and the wind blowing in my face. I can imagine being there. An awesome contest entry.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I, too, have lived most of my life by the sea and am fascinated by its many moods and I miss it when I'm not close. I'm very pleased you like this one. Suzanne

This is really pretty. A great entry for the blue contest. I love all the subtle shading you have put in and the moon is so pretty. Looks like somewhere I'd like to be :)

I really love your painting. My husband and I live in northern CA at the beach and I attest to the fact your water and waves are very good!
The moon and clouds fit perfect with the seascape and set the mood for the painting perfectly.
The only thing I would suggest:
Is to place a GRID OF THIRDS over your painting...and place your POINT OF INTEREST on one of the cross hairs of the Grid.
My guess is the moon might be your point of interest...because it sure is a strong character of this VISUAL STORY...and sets the mood of it being a moonlit night...or very subdued day with a setting sun. Either way...the moon would then need to be placed on one of the upper cross hairs of the grid.
Also notice how bright WHITE... the wave is...in the bottom left foreground. The extreme VALUE INTENSITY of white next to the medium dark blue SCREAMS for attention and pulls the eyes away from your beautiful moon and clouds ...which are the point of interest that draws the viewer into the depth and beauty of your seascape paintng.
Because of these two things I have given you a 4...as they are two elements that IF worked on...would greatly enhance the strength of your composition and provide more power to your seascape story.
There is great technical excellence in the way you dealt with the various plane lines to create a lot of depth and distance. WOW...that part is awesome.
The lighting range of your values that guide the viewer into the heart of your ocean seascape is terrific!
For sure your talent and ability as a fine artist glows beautifully through the art pieces you create.
best regards... Artcart1111

Thank you so much for your detailed review. I'm afraid I've not had a lot of formal training in art so just paint instinctively. I've lived most of my life by the sea and love to try and capture its many moods. Thank you for taking time to view.

This is beautiful. every detail is correct and natural looking. I love seascapes and still struggle to do them realistically with digital art software. Your colors and technique are perfect and I feel as if I can feel the breeze just by viewing this. Love the horizon line as well, and the moonlight catching reflection in the wave at centre left.
well done. You are a TRUE artist of a profesional level.
Hugs, Artragist

This is really nice. I love the shades of blue, the moon, the waves, the reflection of the moon and the clouds. In fact there is nothing here to dislike to my eye.
I love the way the sky merges with the horizon.
Very good.

Very nice blue tones overall your painting. Waves and clouds with a whit touch giving them the real look, after a sun rising or before a sunset. Very good colors work!

I sure like this with the moonlight on the water. you have captured the night light just beautifully. Great distance to the horizon. Waves well done as you have feel the surf rolling and that is hard to capture but you have done it so well. I can relate to this very much growing up near the sea.
