i like the matted look of the texture of this piece, very artistically done i like the coloration of it and the exstream close up of it ,and the enhancement of the center of the flower, to me it looks like a turkey espessally with the eyes and the shape of it looks like wings the way they allways hang their wings and dance great imagination and story matterial very creative john ( :

    Thank you so much John,
I love this flower. The center always looks as if something else in it.
Many people see People or animals. I like the Turkey.
It seams everybody sees something but mostly it's not the same what people see.
    Thanks Cleo.

This is a very interesting mixed media creation. It is a creative idea, which you expressed well in pleasant, harmonious colors. The picture has good initial impact, and considerable story telling ability.

Thank you so much. The colors are the true colors of the flower.

Nice bright image with lovely colours. It reminds me of a peacock in full display.
Personally I would crop out the green at the top and right hand side and then centre the brown part.
Good image

Thank you Karen, especially for your input about the cropping. It probably would look nice but would the flower still recognizable as such if I crop the petals off? I'm affraid it would look like something out of an fantasy world but this flower is real the only thing I added are the eyes.

Very neat picture. I love the great color in the flower. For me its a bit grainy but the texture works with your composition. thanks for sharing :)

Thank you for your kind review. The texture is intentional applied with several filters but I think you mean the 'grains' of the emboss filter. The eyes are painted. The original photo doesn't has grains. This is not a photo but a Mixed Media. If you like to see the original flower picture I'll be happy to post it for you in my portfolio.

Good job on keeping the wonderful colors of this bloom. Blue flowers are not so common. Its center reminds me of an orchid. Very nice. The added eyes are just the right size. I like the texture the filters give it while at the same time keeping the detail of the flower. Initial impact, use of mixed media and composition are very good. Good luck in the contest. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your throuought and encouraging review fila,
I am always amazed with this flower. When ever you do a macro shot it looks as if there are human or animal like creatures in each one. This one here seamed so a sweet one that I couldn't help myself. I had to give her some eyes.
reply by fila4 on 26-Apr-2009
I totally agree with you on adding the eyes.

The color of this mixed media
really gives this work some
really good impact.I love the
boldness of the blue and how you changed it by adding the eyes. The texture of this work adds very good depth to it and I think you did an excellent job
for this contest.
Good Luck!
