Unique style of your own.
Love the different textures you have so skillfully designed. The colors are contrasting well giving a delightful visual impact. So cool in it presence I am absorbing telephone poles and water rushing in and castles in the sky. Thanks for this experience.

Very striking, interesting piece.The symbolism of Oscar in the bubble is very appropriate given the context of the movie itself.The eye is drawn initially to the light of the bubble, or the draw of fame,but then the more vibrant blues and reds of the background take over, as does reality. Keep up the good work!

Very striking, interesting piece.The symbolism of Oscar in the bubble is very appropriate given the context of the movie itself.The eye is drawn initially to the light of the bubble, or the draw of fame,but then the more vibrant blues and reds of the background take over, as does reality. Keep up the good work!

A truly expressive piece of artwork. The Oscar as the holy grail is a unique touch. The colours are so harmonious and representative of the image you are portraying. Great storytelling. I particularly appreciate your explanatory notes. Great film - watched it several times!!!

I always try to do something that touches a chord in me . This is one such challenging subject. I am very glad you liked it. I conceptualized it at the time of Oscars and went on to complete it in a months time.I am really humbled by your wonderful words and praise as always. Thanks very much for your positive critique. I enjoy these vividly coloured, imaginative works that allows me to explore it meaning and purpose.
The structure in the background seems to be a city, the blue and black cold and lonely. The warming fragmentation that leads from it towards the front and the flat, 2D repeat of the city's structure to the left appears with its ochre skies seem to represent a thought, a reminiscence of the city that trails behind the figure like an afterthought.
The warm mass the in the foreground seem to me a rubble that reminds of the "slums" in the title. To me the heat shows passion, warmth, inspiration that propels the figure upwards. The protective orb is an interesting shape, the trailing arms seem to reach over the ocean, city and slums. To me it symbolises hope and the far-reaching effects that inspiration has to those that come in contact with it.
The 2D city that leads up to the human figure does feel uncomfortable to me initially, but when I explore the balance of colour in the work it becomes more fitting though and takes a rightful place with the elements of city, foreground and ocean. My absolute favourite is the warm symbolic shape rising above everything and the reds and browns in the interaction between the blocks as the bottom. The flow of colour from the bottom section to the top creates a wonderful sense of movement in at the top and just pulls all the shapes together.

This is a very different composition to look at. It's very busy, it takes my eye all over the place. Great use of colour combitation,lights,darks, and shapes. When I look at this composition there is alot of emotion happening.The storyline is excellent as you explain what you are trying to acheive on canvas.

A very unique piece. The glowing globe draws me in. I love the colored lines radiating from it. it creates a nice contrast to the harsher lines and blocks below. Well done!
