This is awesome Corrina! Love the immense amount of detail in every animal and plant you have included in this piece and the glitter (haha). I guess we would have to now classify glitter as part of the art mediums:). Your composition and color palette is incredible. What fond memories, great artist notes and this definitely tells a wonderful story. I'm not sure which is my favorite part. From the cute little lions to the zebras and giraffes. Excellent piece would be perfect in a nursery and you could pull different animals and aspects of the piece and use for lamps, borders, etc. It could really be hung in many different places, would make a great mural in a children's wing in a hospital. Excellent work!

Wow thank you Michelle!!! This is the first large canvas I have done and was the first bash at painting since my 6 year break so has a special place in my heart. As you know I find it hard sticking to one thing ;) so this was a huge challenge staying motivated to keep at it, was worth the hard graft.

I love your idea of having it in a Nursery and using different pieces from it. Would make a good mural but can you imagine how long that would take!!! would need mega bucks thrown at me to pull that one off lol

Thanks again for such a great review

I can see this on walls of babies rooms everywhere. This is lovely. I love the colors. I love all that is going on. You have captured the animals in a way that everyone especially children would relate to it and could learn from. The expressions on the animals is very clever.
I think you should turn this into prints.
I think this is a very sellable piece. Very nice.

An Africa as in the imagination of a child but even so exciting for an adult. Thanks for the interesting comments I have to check up on Tinga Tinga.
It is Africa for sure but it seems somehow connected with other native art. On the first look I was reminded of wall paintings of today and the ancient paintings in Bonampark we both find here in the Yucatan. I was reminded of paintings at the pyramids of ancient Egypt. What an exciting stile, what an enormous amount of information in beautiful bright tropical colors. You truly have the attention of the viewer and you tell the story of your memories and your family well. Sorry I have non of the six stars left.

Thank you so much, yes the children were very patient while I painted this, bless them. They were constantly asking me to paint the next characters, they are always pointing them out saying this one is me and thats you and dad, very cute. You probably cant see them but my little boy even drew a tiny scorpion and ant at the bottom, that was as much he was allowed to touch it he he

Oh yes I certainly do wish you luck , you deserve it so much. I bet it looks great . If you could find a publisher whose interested . You could be selling loads of size A3 /OR A2 copies as posters. I know it`s not easy , because such a lot come cheaply from overseas now . , but I`m sure many people would love this as a poster . Try the big card manufacturers also . Best of luck to you . I`ll be keeping my fingers crossed .

Aww thank you, well I've signed up to a couple of sites that can sell your images as cards, posters and even on mugs so its out there but to be honest there is so much competition Im not holding my breath. Will keep pushing it out there and you never know I might get lucky. It was fun painting so thats the main thing :)

I know ..I`ve been amazed at the amount of great talent that is out there . Some miles better than people already doing it for a living .
But the main thing IS to enjoy it you are right , but some is so GOOD , That it seems a shame it doesn`t get the recognition it`s deserves . Keep trying ..Linny x

Thanks Linny, don't worry I'm not giving up that easily he he. Its so tough trying to promote yourself with young children, working and being a housewife. I wish I was lucky enough to do it for a living but its a tough market out there. I get the impression that a lot of the people that have this as their profession had loads of money to begin with and had all the time in the world to promote themselves, I envy them! Ah well as long as people are enjoying viewing them on sites like this thats the main thing :)
