nice piece of art work , you had a good eye for colour mixing, and making a piece of art come to life , almost as if you could walk along this snowy path , great vision which you can tell in the way the piece has been presented.all the best lee

Good notes. Nice painting of a great place to take a walk. The "fireball" in the background looks good and gives warmth. Like the colors and depth. The darker side looks good to me as if a cloud is passing over.

amazing picture for your age and shows a delicate touch but with a sense of maturity to. some early works such as this can give an insight into the mind of a budding artist, though sometimes we lose the spirit of what it's like to be young. this painting has a great sense of adventure, and a magical feel. it reminds me of tales such a 'little red riding hood' or 'hansel and grettle' a secret german forest.

Thanks again Mr Jones, sorry for the late reply!! Its funny seeing the older things we painted isn't it. I never thought I had a style until I joined this site. Once I started collating all my work together and looked at the old and new it just jumped out at me. I have improved since but I still seem to like painting the same things. Hope all is well your end, hows the 3rd piece going?

Hey I really love this painting! It's pretty well done for a teenager even though that was years ago! I really like how you can see the trail leading through the forest towards a wintery sun! Very well done!

thanks for the lovely review, this was done when I went to an art club, its amazing what techniques you can learn! I have sadly forgotten them since but maybe one day I will have a chance to do some classes again and try to do some more landscapes :)

I think You should thank your parents, for not burning your art for "God".!.
That aside:
This is quite nice.
Is the darkness in the top right corner from the image or the photographic end.
It must be really wonderful to have art from that time when you were new, I envy you, but in a good way.
Anyway full marks all around.

lol thanks David, yes I'm not the best photographer so must have picked up a shadow along the way. I did this when I started an art club and they showed me a few techniques. I have forgotten them all now. I would love to attempt something like this again but a little afraid. One day I will take classes again, but for now I will carry on letting my mind wonder. Thanks again for taking time to review this

Your mind seems to wonder well enough on your own. Classes can be helpful but they can also be quite restrictive, I've found.

Yes I'm sure they can be, I would hate it if I had to draw a bowl of fruit or similar, just not my scene. As much as I appreciate artwork like this it would just bore me to do it myself and theres not much point if Im not enjoying it. What classes have you taken then?
