From birds to bees. Or is it about the bird and the bees?! This is a stunning macro shot.Sharpness, colour and compositions are first rate. Well done!

Good macro, I think flies are fascinating after the movie but have never seen one represented this way. It is like a bee in there. It doesn't seem to fit with the beauty of a flower but it interesting to see in this way. Good capture. Was it taken with a macro lens?

Thank you very much! Yes this was taken with a macro. I don't remember the settings though. I entered this and forgot about it. I just listed it today.

Boy, this is nice...I can't get one to sit still long enough to swat it, much less photograph it! I sure can't say anything that is not nice about this shot...Razor sharp, well exposed....Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for such a nice review & the high mark. I sat on the ground next to this Mum, trying to get a shot of a bee. When this thing landed I was already there with the camera, I shot him a lot. I was using a micro lense. This made it harder.

Amazing shot, Willie. You really got every detail. Clarity is so good as is the lighting. Don't you ever wonder if flies can think? Yikes you made the nasty thing look cute.

Thank you so much. Yes they are nasty. When my wife saw this she said "shew" why do you want a picture of that nasty thing. All of gods creatures are pretty in there own way.

willie,

Wow, as much as i hate flies i absolutely love this beautiful detailed capture of Hairy and a great job well done! So you live in KY?! I am moving to Boone, NC this weekend and so excited we will practically be neighbors now after I move out of Florida, which I will only miss it for it's Sunsets-Sunrises. I love Hairy's detail, colors and the flower...pretty cool!

A nice shot of a very fast moving creature! I can't tell if you used a zoom or used a macro to take this. It has good contrasting colors and the detail if fine. The photo may have been able to be a little brighter to make that background stand out a little more. Sometimes the sun just isn;t in the right place at the right time for things like this and we just have to hope that it will be the next opportunity. Keep it up and hope it all goes well.

Thank you so much. I used a macro lense. I took a bunch of shots. Using a micro lense you have to get real close. The fly did not like it much, he would keep flying away. I think the necter was so sweet he just fogot about me being there.

Using a macro you had to do this over and over just to get that close. Good job and nice determination just to get the picture!

I think the fly was more determined to get the nectar. I did shoot a lot.
