Initial impact; very nice shot of the head. Lighting is good. Action who can out stare each other. Bird head
presentation. Color harmony very smooth. Center of interest is the head. Cropping is good. You left a little room around the head so we can appreciate it. Focus is very sharp. I can see almost every element of every feather. Depth of field has completely blurred out the back ground there by bring forth the bird even more for our viewing. Story telling not much told. It is female and a cardinal.

Beautiful, clear shot of this pretty little girl. She has a sweet face! Focus and coloring is good. I might have cropped some off the left so that her eye is not dead center, but otherwise wonderful!

Fantastic shot! I bet you were excited. Great detail on the feathers and you got the catch light in the eye. Great bokeh too. You have your own blind? What lens did you shoot this with?

thank you so much. I just wraped a piece of old tarp around some poles, and cut a hole for my lens. Olympus 140-600mm.

Chose to review this one of my favorite subjects, because its the BEST Close-up that Ive seen. Wish I could give it a TEN.

Comparing your image on my calibrated monitor, with a zone scale, see a good range of zones.

Lets take a look at the Impact - Strong 6

It has lots of impact, with specific points of interest.

Lighting 5
Appropriate. Natural appearing lighting of an interesting subject, with open shadows...

Composition - 5
In composing, we want to choose a powerful interest point, put it into the position with most impact. You have done well with this.

Creativity: 5

Well balanced, interesting patterns of light and shadows, good detail in mid-tones, and highlights.

You have done very well with this image, will enjoy seeing more.

Artists use colors which express what they "feel" about the image. Not just ones that are real or "technically correct." If someone does not like your colors, they may do not speak your language. Neither you or they are wrong, just have different opinions.

Only if, _we_feel_ it is not the way we want, should we change it to suit others. If we change it, those who like it, will not.

Story - 5

Images are worth thousands of words. The best require no words to describe, not even a Title.

When your work communicates emotions or ideas and effects the viewer, a Story has been told.

This is a really cute bird it looks very young, and by the crest on the head is it a cardinal? Color and focus are both very good, with the blur in the background the bird is absolutely the center of attention. Good technique thanks for sharing
