This work is nice. It makes me feel at ease. The tree is in a good place for this work. It never overpowers the rest of the work but it is the first place my eye moves.

Colors work well here with the deep, rich colors at the top and the darker moving up with the tree.

The contrast of pink is perfect against the sun

the tree is totally magical, the background of the mountain makes this romantic and the elephants make this whole picture absolutely elegant and beautiful and really peaceful

My desire as a reviewer, is to help you produce something better, each time. Sometimes that is difficult, with those who have a lot of experience Painting. My comments are merely suggestions, use them if you like them, ignore them if you do not. :)

Chose to review this, because it grabbed my attention.

Lets see why it did.
The Title Really Fits.

Don't care for hard lines between sunset colors like some reds, as sky colors in the distance in reality are blended. But, that's only my personal preference.

One of my top ten favorite subjects are sunsets or any image with warm colors, which this has. As a psychologist I know that warm colors create good feelings... so the warm tones work well. It is also a good photo copy of a painting, which is not easy to capture. In the thumbnail, the elephants looked like silhouettes, but in the larger one, am happy to see gradations of color giving shape to them. This is also true in the tree, many just use black without detail with a sunset.

This has impact in the subject with variation of values from blacks to yellows and reds.

Lighting 4
Appropriate for the image.

Interesting patterns in the light, and mid-tones. ..

"Technical" rules, can be broken, when breaking them is creative or expresses your feelings.

Beautiful image. I'm not schooled in art but this is very appealing. Good colors and really gets your attention. I can see how this would look from a child's eyes or memory. Thanks for sharing.

awesome work. And this is only your 3rd piece.? Thats amazing. I love the way the tree looks and the birds flying away from it and i really like the elephants in it and how they are all holding each other. very nice. This would look great in a frame. I love the sunset. You are very good with the pastels I wouldnt give them up yet.

WOW! I love this Corrina. I'm completely drawn into the scene by that wonderful red sky with the burning sun! The silhouettes of the animals are fantastic and the rickety looking tree is just fantastic. Beautiful work indeed! - Joyce

I apologize for not knowing anything about your craft, other than I know what I like.. the colors, the shadows, the depth, the subjects, the flight of the birds, the subtle grass in the foreground shadows. these are a few of my favorite things! beautiful
