Great shot. You got the movement and yet the head is quite sharp and also at that 1/3 vertical and horizontal to make for a great composition.

Woah, nice capture. the focus on that head is amazing considering how fast that guy was coning in there. Great shot! What are you shooting with? I agree that it's slightly grainy but that's sort of to be expected considering how fast you were shooting.

Really nice image, I enjoyed reviewing it.

Thank you so much. I have an olympus E3 with a 140/600mm lens. Shot at 3000/sec. at f5.3 I have been experimenting with fast shutter speeds and different iso settings. This shot the iso was on automatic. I have learned the faster the shutter speed the more grain you have.

Impact,Wow what perfection. Crisp and Clean for his head and the post. Well done! like the info on that. Color is great. The wings spread with ease, and motion. Love this one This is another of your postcard/ posters isn't It!! Thanks for sharing !! Bev

wow this is an awesome photo. love how yo were able to get the bird with its wings open.
the colors are also very nice.
I am not really seeing the graininess that you are speaking of.

Great shot Willie. Timing is everything in nature photography.
very good framing,
very good comp.
mavbe a little faster shutter speed to get a solid focus of his head, the most important part.

The faster your shutter speed in my experience the grainier the shot if the subject is moving. I'm not a professional and I'm still learning so don't take my word alone. That being said even though the photo is a bit grainy its a fantastic photo.

Really cool photo Willie. Coposition is very good. Lightings very good. Great colouring in bird. Good detail in both bird and tree stem. Now grain wis. If you dont have photoshop. Download GIMP...its completely free. Does sharpening , noise reduction. Grain extractions. Its very good
