I really like this photo, but not in a bad way. Reading your notes & seeing the picture is rather depressing, but that is nothing as I haven't been there to experience it myself.

The sign is rather sickening & scary. The photo is well composed & focused. The snow gives it a more sinister look.

Thank you for the information & for sharing.

An emotive series of pictures that that deal with an unpleasant chapter in history.

Do you know the work of Henryk Ross? He is definately worth a google if not, his work will change your mind about the holocaust, life as a Jew in NAZI concentration camps and day to day life in the ghetto.

Carl.

Excellent notes enhancing the image, and the bleakness portrayed; none so bleak as man's inhumanity to another. The cruelty would have made the blood freeze, more than the weather. A coldness unequaled by the cold surroundings. A poignant dedication to those who suffered.

Another nice shot from that trip of remembrance. Nice story, COI, color, and DOF. The initial impact is good and makes me tingle.

It must have been quite a journey.
Your photograph captures the scene very well.
Made all the more poignant because of the cold and snow.
Thanks for sharing.

This would be an extremely overwhelming experience spending time here. You have really tried to capture the feelings of the place and you have done a great job representing that. The winter and snow really sends a chill about how horrible man can be. Thanks for sharing really interesting subject mater.

this sign was based on the one in dachau and i thought it had been stolen? It is a brilliant shot, although you were cold, you have captured the grim reality of the severe cold. i'm not sure iconic is the word but this entrance and sign has been very well photographed before and is very infamous. important is not the word and there are many justifiable reasons to keep this open as a museum. on an artistic level it is very professional.

Another good journalistic shot and great history. I am very interested in seeing your photos. Good focus and depth and the snowflakes definitely add to the bleakness.

thank you for showing how horrible and difficult it was, let's hope more people know and understand it, so maybe it will NOT happen again
