Think this is a stark reminder of something evil that happened,hard to believe it happened all that time ago,have just seen a play on tele last night that showed children of the time taken to our lake district,the actors played real people and at the end the real people who were there appeared at the end of the play,so moving and made you think,well done annie for showing this...Brian

Thank you so very much for the lovely review Brian, and also for the 6 stars. I visited this Place in December 10 years ago, and it was a blizzard this day. How could prisoner survive these weather conditions ? I will never forget this visit.

This is a fine capture with great use of natural light and darkness.

Beyond emotive and so Apropos for this anniversary date. I have many patients who are survivors and their stories are haunting. Last night on the public station they had a documentary on Auschwitz. It was so hard to watch.
This is a fine capture with great use of natural light and darkness.

The darkness evidently means death in the gas chambers, but the light means hope. The mixed media creation is perfectly composed. The creation is a memorial for the victims of the concentration camps, but also a reminder for us, who are living now and the generations which follow us. Together with your excellent comments this creation leaves a deep emotional impact on the viewer, especial when own family members were or are affected.

A very topical image posted here! Your fine and classical composition offers us a good look at one of the rooms in that awful place. It looks to be very neat and tidy. Bet it did not look that 75 years ago. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Wonder where you got the image from? Nicely done!

I like the contrast you have in this image. The dark room and barracks showing despair and agony contrasts with the light coming through the window offering some type of hope.
Can you images and night without lights in these barracks? Cold, crowded, starving, fearful, dirty.
This is surely an epic photo! Thanks for sharing.

I really felt a lot of mood in this image.
Great composition.
Soft lighting adds to a gloomy environment. The window and it's reflection of light seems to add some hope to the dark reality.

This is beautiful work. I visited Dachou and all the photos I took were slides. This photo reminded me immediately of Ann Frank. This must have been her view of the camp; She had hope till the end when she died in the camp.I have written some poems about the experience one of which is titled "Let We Forget It's in my portfolio on Fan Story. You did a perfect job on this carefully composed and excellentlly lighted work.
