Comment from GaliaG
nice tones of brown, good composition, presentation and initial impact
still, I feel that this does not really shows the desert, at least as I know it from Israel

Good idea. Good execution. The foreground could have been defined better as also the cacti. The composition appears symmetrical which also needs to be avoided.

Compositionally this works and visually it certainly captured my attention. The colour is also appealing and the subject matter interesting. No negatives on this one. All the best in the comp! Robin

Interesting completion. The sky is well done. It even carries a pattern through out it. The white clouds carry their end of the presentation. The mountain has worked out very well. I particularly like the high cliffs. Where the red/brown meets the flat lands, I feel it is a little to abrupt of a change. I'm thinking see in the highest tier with the black marbling is taking place, maybe something like that in the lower tier help make the graduation from the steeper land to the flat land. When a person stands on the flat lands and looks at the mountains, we see very little of the flat lands compared to the mountain that takes up the sky. Because of the amount of flat land shown, it almost makes it look very vertical/slopped. I put a piece of paper across the bottom just below the bush, I feel that really helped the perspective.

RevDon,
sounds like you think cropping it some at the bottom might help with the perspective? Thank you for your time, opinions and suggestions within your comments on this piece, much appreciated.

You are welcome. I only make suggestions unless I know absolutely and even then it is a suggestion.
