This is a fabulous capture. He looks like he is skating or doing a pirouette. Beautiful separation from background and tells a great story.

Your bird captures are among the best i've seen on FAR willie. They always capture both action & perfect clarity. Razorsharp detail. Lighting is just right. Another lovely composition. Great action shot. Its like Bambi the Heron. Your choice to tilt this is very good. Makes take off seem very impressive. Well done

Hey Willie. Can bother you for a touch of information. What camera mode are you taking these guys on?

I shot at 750/sec at f5.6. It was a little overcast. I have learned 750 catches most of the stuff, the faster shutter speeds espically on overcast days leaves to much grain.

This is great. I know how hard it is to capture these guys. The action is awesome. The color is great, with the ice making a great contrast to the water and ground. When I catch one of these I always have trouble with focus on the head for some reason. YOu have done well with that as well. Very nice image.
