Wow, beautiful shot. Love the bright colors and composition. The butterfly really pops, which grabs your interest right away. Sharpness is great. Well done.

You either have the patience of a saint, too much time on your hands or the tamest most docile birds and now it seems insects where you are. This is another fine nature photograph, I especially enjoy some of your birds, they are so colourful compared to the muted tones of our native species. Keep it up.

Thank you so very much! I do have a full time job trying to get good photographs. I have a little bit of patience but the birds, even though I feed them year round are not tame and for sure the insects are as wild as they can be. I may shoot 100 or more to get a few good ones. Thank goodness for digital!

Wow, this is a fantastic macro shot, and in such a fine focus at that. The butterfly is so sharp it looks as though it was drawn. Such a sharp and crisp image, and the colors are so well defined. Nice combination of blurred background. EVerything is very well balance make, with great attention to detail. National Geographic style....Good Luck in the contest.

Very nicely done. Great focus and light. Aren't weeds some of the prettiest flowers? Now I know what a monarch looks like. I've been calling our local orange butterflies monarchs and someone told me that was not so, so now I know. Good job

Thank you so very much! The monarch is toxic to birds because the worm eats milkweed. The birds know to leave them alone. There is another butterfly called the viceroy which mimicks the monarck. They look almost the same. Birds leave them alone too. You can look this up on google an read about them. I think it is fasinating!
