It is a very sad tale, this one- oft repeated from my childhood...it would make a good advert for the evils of drink- how good men succumb to terrible behaviour when under the influence of drink. Though I was scared to show it, I felt it had to be done, for the sake of the girls and women's memories.

I really like the expressiveness of this piece. I like your fearlessness. My suggestions would be to try bigger brushes for the bigger background areas, and maybe go for a little more variance as far as values are concerned. Some more lights and darks. Very eye-catching.

thank you for your comments. I was very scared to show it, but felt I had to as it was a real memory of my childhood and I feel to show the effects alcohol had on normal men has to be done once in a while- thank you for your advice, however I paint tiny A4 paintings, so larger brushes, though giving better background are just not possible with tiny water colours and small space- thank you very much!
