OMG, how unique! ET phone home! Great movie. And this photo is amazing! Gorgeous colors abound, but it's the writing that makes it so unique. Great catch. Linda

I like the colors in this cloud in the centre. Clear image with good focus. It would have been nicer if there had of been something in the foreground to add interest. But that of course is just my personal opinion.

    Thank you, I appreciate your review and your input. It may be better with something else in the foreground but there was nothing but the tree. This picture wasn't set but a mere reaction to the unusual cloud and taken for the 'writing' what appears as EC. This 'writing' didn't last more than a minute in most.

Great impact with the clouds just exploding with colour that looks so compelling. The saturation is good and the trees provide a fine perspective. Lovely shot.

Beautiful. Very well shot. Certainly appears to be a message of sorts to me. Colors are rich and full. I would suggest cropping above the straight line at the bottom for a cleaner look. I wish you luck in the contest.

    Thank you for your encouraging review and your input. I would like to try out your suggested cropp but don't know what you suggest. There is no straight line on the bottom of my photo I am aware of. I also don't understand what is unclean at my photo. Please clarify.
reply by yourbren on 09-May-2011
    Certainly I am happy to clarify for you. Along the right hand side from the middle there is is solid black line that may be the top edge of a house or it may be the edge of the field with one small bit of a tree peeking up on the edge of the bottom right. There is nothing unclean in your image, as you put it. When one says taking away something will give the image a cleaner look, it means really that your image will have a more polished composed presentation without distractions that have no relevancy to the image. I hope my explanation has clarified things for you. Bren

    Thank you Bren, Forgive somebody who is not born with the English language and has never learned it in school but only by herself the misunderstanding. I have not heard the therm before.
    I just checked both my original photo and my post, There is no solid black line. The photo was taken in an unpopulated area were no houses are, just trees and brush. There is the silhoutte of a tree from the right border to the middle, beginning with a curved part at the right, then toward the middle two branches peaking out straight up from the tree, then there is blue sky until three more branches peaking up toward the right corner. I had earlier considered to erase [clone] these three branches on the right; but did not since that would mean mixed media. Mixed Media is forbidden for this contest. Cropping above all these peaking branches would mine right through the little white cloud to the left. This crop seems to high to me. ~Thanks again for your kindness and the time you spend with this conversation. +++ [I can not sign with mane. I have to remind anonymous for the contest}

    I appreciate your response. Let me assure you that for one thing I would never suggest losing the trees on the left side. They add greatly to your composition. My crop was a matter of a mere fraction of an inch. The slim line I saw originally appears to be gone although the small tip of the tree remains. It is of no importance. Your image is good. Leave it as it is. My suggestion's are for your consideration only. The image is yours and always, you must satisfy your own vision. I will say, that I would check the rules here at FAR. I do not believe cloning is considered mixed media, if you had a telephone wire going through your image and you removed it, you would really not have altered your essential image. But I will look into it. I am very impressed with your command of the English language and with your sincere desire to present and understand what would make the best possible presentation of your image. I thank you for your response and sincerely hope that I may be more helpful to you in the future. Bren

    Thank you Bren, I am impressed with your desire to help. I understand fully what you mean and it drives me silly that I cant find that line. I just blow my photo up to look closer. The only line-like thing I see about an inch high starts in the trees with an almost horizontal branch what meet a fine line of dark cloud. I will try to crop there. Its just above the tree tops right.
    For all I know cloning is mixed media [the lowest just one click above non on the entry page]. Usually it would not be matter for a contest entry. But this contest is different because it was ask for letters in nature. The smallest alteration could make a big difference between having a letter or not. My letters are in the cloud left. If I would clone the back of the E just a little to the right it would make the number 8. Another example: moving a little twig between branches on a tree changes a triangle to an A.
    Thank you for your compliments on my English. I like to take the credit but it is merely my fall. Language comes easy to me and of curse being married to an US citizen and living in a community were five different languages are spoken on a daily basis helps a lot. Even not located in the English spoken Americas; English is the first language in our little village; because it is the language easiest to learn and is understand by all the neighbors.
    I thank you for your response and especially for your offered help. +++ :-)
