It's superb; so sensitive, so elegant, so discrete...In fact this flower has a very sad fate, a flash light and ...it's over; many lives are much alike with this beauty...

Thank you. I appreciate your deep thought review. But when the life of this queen is over a princess is there to follow. Do you see that little stingy thing above the Queen? that is a new but what shortly will be the queen of an other night or another lifetime. Time is relative even for flowers.

This is beautiful photgraphy, rich in color and implied narrative. Your unusual close up and angle and the soft forms lead the viewer's eye around composition. It's a compelling image, executed by an expert hand.

Beautiful photo and a great presentation. Thanks for sharing your time and talent. The photo would also look good as a vertical.

Nice shot!
This is beautiful! I have used flashlight at night before! It does give a very dramatic look to the flower! Good job and good luck in the contest!

Very nice job here. I love the positioning of the flower and such clarity you hvae. I've never seen this before probably cause we don't have cactus. LOL But I'm glad you got it. Very pretty :)

Comments: This is a GREAT picture with a great deal of creativity in using the flash light as your light source. I really appreciate how you cropped the picture. DOF is outstanding. I appreciate your artist notes with the great detail and wonderful information about the camera and its settings. Was it tripod mounted or did you hand hold the camera? What mode were you shooting in? Thanks for sharing.
Oh by the way I am out of five and a half star ratings. This picture deserved one.

Thank you very much for your accomodating review. Don't worry about the stars, I appreciate the thought. The camera was handhold. The Queen had decided to reside 10 feet above ground in the brushes. Beside this fact it is complicated to set a tripod in a area especially at night. It is also to much for a five feet, 90 pound person to carry two cameras, the flashlights and a dog on the leash 1 mile on a 2 feed white jungle pass. {It is not a good idea to enter the jungle at night without a dog] I had the camera set on vivid color with the white set to natural fluorescent light. The macro feature was on. That seems may unusual but I had these settings tried before in similar circumstances using flashlights.

The Queen of the night is just spectacular! Thank you for your notes. It is quite a story of its short blooming period. This is a magnificent capture, and your presentation is excellent! The detail is sharp and well focused. Impressive image. Thanks for sharing.
