This is so striking , it just jumps out at you. So simple yet so effective, focus, light and contrast are spot on. So much detail on close inspection of the moon, the consistency looks like that of a meringue, great informative notes, makes you wonder what's out there.

Very nice shot here. Nice sharpness and detail. I love the contrast of the moon in the black sky, and very nicely composed. I appreciate that the moon is offset to the one side and not in the middle of the frame. Thanks for sharing.

Great photo. The moon is perfectly placed as your eyes are just drawn to it. The sharpness is astounding as you can see craters!! Perfect photo.

Great exposure of the moon which is so difficult to achieve. I am suprised that such good clarity can be achieved at 1/100 as I thought it would be quite dark. So, very well done.

Thank you very much. 1/100 worked because of the location it was taken. This picture was taken near the seashore in the tropics where the air is still almost unpolluted. It was a clear night. The moonlight was so bright that no light was needed to see. I guess an similar achievement could be made in high mountain areas with clear air.

Okay, I'm a sucker for astro-photography. Looks tighter than 72mm, but a lovely moon shot in any case. Good detail on craters along the shadow edge. Good density.

Thank you very much. It locks tighter than 72mm because of the cropping and the location of the moon in the sky and the location where the picture was taken. The moon was still rising [8:30pm] on a seashore of a tropical peninsula.

This is a very captivating image of the moon. It is interesting to see the detail on the surface. Even the tiny pot marks at the left. Good artist notes. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your encouraging review. Note that the settings are right for the area I took the picture and may not apply under different conditions. This picture was taken in the tropics near seashore were the air is still mostly unpolluted. The night was very clear and the light of the moon bright enough to see the landscape. It may work the same in clear nights in high mountain areas with clear air but it won't work in cities or any area with polluted air.
