There is also an African folk talesimialar to that, and I can't remember the name..darn it! I like this a lot, it has great spooky elements, but as you say, a fairytale feel..fairytales are quite gruesome sometimes aren't they!? Donkeyoatey

Thank you very much. Yes some fairytales are gruesome; namely those not written for kids but told mouth to mouth for hundreds of years. Often they are disgust reality changed very much over time by mouth to mouth. Witches often go back to shaman roots, knowing of natures secrets, healing plants etc. Were good is is always evil as well. In many countries pagan and christian/pagan mix cults beside christianity even today. [Mexico is one of them]. Often pagan cults were called evil for by christianity ad other religions and politicians using the cape of religion as by the Inquisition or the conquest of the Americas by Spain. The Owl Greeks symbol of wisdom and Athena's companion got the messenger of doom over time. It all went into folk legends and fairytales.

quite an amazing surprise cleo! looks like an authentic and creepy witch. excellent imagination and wonderfully put together. before i read the notes this was exactly the feeling being conjured up (in my mind), as it harps back to the old (eastern european) folk tales. of course also the classic 'hansel and gretle' story and 'der struwwelpeter' by heinrich hoffmann (artwork) comes to mind. you have a brilliant way of mixing the real with the mystic and the super natural with a heavy dose of realism. i can sense your germanic background.

Thank you. You made my day again. Thanks for your understanding review and the Star-Rain.
These mixing of supernatural and mystic with realism dosn't go over well sometimes. I'm happy you like it.
You are full of surprises. The Struwwelpeter seems almost unknown now as so many story books from way back then. Of course it's all in there; but not only the German background. Maybe everyone of the nationality mix I am made of left a mark.
