Like the intense stare, that fish does not have a chance.

Good composition, excellent sharpness, the subject stands out nicely against the background which is sufficiently detailed to allow for definition of the setting but soft enough to not interfere with the image. Good range of colors in harmony.

Nice story telling.

Beautiful crisp detail of this guy. A very good shot with great focus and exposure. I love how you caught his eye also. The colors are good. A very nice image all round.

Wow, really a nice shot. Love the intense stare. He was really concentrating, must be why he ignored you. Focus is very good and the blurred background is good. He is a little grainy. Probably either the ISO or close crop. 500 shouldn't be a problem but combined with the crop is probably what caused it. He is very well composed and has good lighting and colors show well. Overall a great capture.

Thank you so very much! The shot was a little under exposed. When I brightened and changed the contrast made the grain come out and I think I sharpened it too. I have had second thoughts about why I even posted it.

You shouldn't have second thoughts it is a great shot of a beautiful bird.

My first reaction was a nice close up of this bird. The he second was the image looks grainy and slightly pixulated. I like the colors and the textures. I think the colors in the background compliment the bird nicely and help push it towards the viewer, how ever that grainy look is a major detractor to the overall presentation for me.

The first impression is a good photo of the heron with a original story. The focus is good and the colors are nice. The presentation is well chosen.

A very interesting piece of photography!

The alert eyes, poise and demeanor, ready to catch the prey.
The wild background,
lovely color contrast,
a praiseworthy work!
