This is a really cute close up of your close friend! I love the sunflowers hanging on his beak and the snowflakes are really cool. Nice shot!

Great shot of this bird Willie, I love, not only the clarity of the shot, being able to see the sunflowers dangling from her mouth, but the great snowflakes floating around. I thought this would be a shoo-in for the contest :)) Shirley

Very good close up photo. Like the story you add also. The blurred background makes it easer to concentrate on the subject, no distractions, keeps viewers eyes on the subject. Good work, keep it up.

This is amazing that you could get her this close up. I like all the detail that you see. The way you caught her with the food in her beak is great. I like your write up too. Must be great to live where you see so many birds and other animals. An excellent picture. Good luck in the contest.

This is a gorgeous bird. Did you use a tripod? If not, you have a great long distance lens with a steady hand pointing it the right way. Love color and contrast. I am jealous. LOL

Thank you so very much for a good review and high score! This was hand held! I use a fast shutter speed and that takes care of movement!

A fast shutter speed - the kind that is used for sports photography. I see how that can make a difference. Thanks.

I usually am shooting 750/sec if the light will allow.

From afar I thought this bird had devoured a smaller one. The shape of the Cardinal's head is quite domineering, and I love how powerful and efficient her ability is to crack shells. Truly a master in her environment, This photo shows her powers in a well composed frame. I love the hint of red in her head feathers, above the brow, and the brightness of the beak. A lot of strength in this image
