Wow! Great close up shot.
This is a beautiful shot of the bird. You have timed it well. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good luck in the contest.

What an excellent photograph this is. Someday I hope I can take one that is even half that good. Very pretty. Well focused and composed.

Nice DOF and details in the eye and feathers. I really like the capture of the sunflower seed shells in her beak. Nice action shot.

When I first saw this I couldn't figure out what was wrong with his beak but by the time it clicked on it I knew they were sunflower seeds. What a great shot Willie. This guy really does like sunflower seeds and has a real problem with overload. Fantastic detail and focus. You must have been practically on top of him. It is composed and presented very nicely. The background is perfect for this shot with the shallow DOF. Loved your artist notes and the title is perfect. It sounds like you love them and they turn the affection. Great photo. Good luck with the contest.

Great initial impact. Excellent focus, lighting and color harmony. Center of interest is the up close portrait in which the pupil of the eye, the red "eyebrow feathers", the make up of the individual feathers as well as the sunflower seed cracking technique are all clearly visible. Good composition and framing. Excellent technique, technical skill, and story telling potential. Creativity in title and artist notes.

The colors & contrast are great!
Wonderful natural lighting to show the great detail & focus!
I like the sunflower hulls hanging from her beak-remnants of the previous bite!

Great composition with the close crop and narrow depth of field. The details and texture in the feathers is incredible. The little touches of red and the red beak really make the photo. Very nice.
