Colors do not scream but they are very natural and realistic and the image has good balanced colors that work in harmony. Nice composition and good detail in the button bush flower which is usually burnt out in most photographs. The side lighting is providing good detail in the butterfly and in the leaves. The image reminds me of the style of the old scientific drawings in presentation.

This is a great photo of the butterfly. I also find the flowers on this bush quite interesting. I am not familiar with either the bush or the butterfly. Of course, I am no great expert on either one. I like your idea of taking the photos from the car. I do need a longer lens to do that, but I'll get it one of these days. I'm surprised you could get such a good angle from the car, though. I did find out one thing, I can't get good photos through the front windshield of my car, they get distorted. I tried it. I was just checking this butterfly, its markings appear to be mirror image between the two sides. I was reading notes from someone else who had a butterfly photo posted and they said that, at least in that species, the markings were not always mirror image, so I've been looking at butterflies. I can really tell in this one that they are that mirror image. They are also quite striking, I can see why they would be one of your favorites. Great catch.

Thank you so very much! The road is higher than the bushes lower branches. I am shooting down through the open window. I was about 4 feet from this butterfly!

You must have clean windows! A very nice shot. Beautifully framed and pretty sharp too. A very delicate and nicely coloured butterfly. I love the way its surrounded by those unusual shaped flowers. Well done!
