I saw this and thought, "I hope that's in the butterfly contest!" ... and it is. I could go on about what makes it such a nice shot, but I think you already know. There's just one problem; I want to give it 6 stars, and I have 3 left to give for this week according to the type below, but when I hit the drop-down box, I am not given the option to choose 5.5 or 6. What's up with that?

Thank you so very much! FAR limits you on how many high scores you can give to one person. It will come back!

This is an excellent example of an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. Not only is the insect spectacular, but the foliage and blossoms of the button bush are also exceptional for clarity and beauty.

YOU shot this through your CAR
window! WOW! What a terrific shot! No reflection or dirt shows on the window and the DOF is fantastic! GREAT lighting!

I love swallowtails and the button bush flower, so you got a shot of two of my favorites. Love the angle you took this from. I wanted to give you a six, but I guess for the time being I given you the Max FAR allows. This is a beautiful entry for the Butterfly contest!

GOODD LUCK! :o) Helvi

Great initial impact. Good focus, lighting and color harmony. The horizontal view of the Swallowtail's wingspread and good view of the button bush flower vie for the center of interest. Good composition and framing. Very good technique, technical skill and story telling potential. Creativity in title and artist's notes.

Interesting way you achieved this photograph, I guess they aclimatise to the car noise which is probably constant in backcground. Once again you have captured the butterfly well with good composition and focus.

There's that buttonbush again! I really like the focus in this shot - very nice detail in both the butterfly and the flowers he is feeding on. Also very nice lighting and color harmony.
