Beautiful details in the feathers and tack sharp head and eye. I like your composition also, the full wing and feet stretched out create tension along the edges of the frame.

Gotta love the great blues. We have them all summer here in New Hampshire. Always amaze me to watch them stand dead still for what seems like forever and then "bang" and the come with a frog or a fish.
Anyway.. great techs and the detail in the wing feathers is perfect.

Thank you so very much! I sit and wait for them to catch a fish or whatever. It really does seem forever. I have a harness for my camera and sometimes use a chair but most of the time I just it on the ground.

A very attractive bird with its long beak, neck and legs. Looks very elegant as it flys low over the water. Pity the bird is very near the right hand of the frame, as well as the bottom, but I do appreciate it is very difficult capturing flying birds. Good colours and focus.

Wow, what an amazing photo and what a great catch. The position of his wings and the designs of his wings are beautiful. Such an interesting view where you cannot see its body. Really enjoyed seeing the photo.

Good impact....nice natural light and sharp focus....good timing to catch the heron in his flight...cropping is a bit tight on the bottom and roomy on top....wonderful color harmony

thank you so very much! you have to get close to them as that is half the battle. get him in focus and just wait. he will do something but you have to be ready as he moves very fast.
