The composition and definition on this little guy are great. The hairs on the body and legs, the fine membrane on the wings and the detail on the eyes really bring out the fine definition. Light and DoF also work very well - a very effective picture. Maybe a bit more unusual than a butterfly?

Great notes for this great image of the 'robber fly' and this looks a winner in the contest, surely should go close. Great focus and detail and it looks stunning and the colors go really well and it is greatly framed. A very well captured and presented image. Great effort and I would have love to have given this a 5.5 or 6*star rating because of the wonderful detail of the fly. Paul - digitalscud.

Great capture of this little guy. Although the macro really makes him look pretty big and mean. Great colors with the touch of green in the upper left. It brings your eye up to his head/eyes. The best part of this shot is the amazing definition of all the small hairs on his body and legs. Thanks for showing.
