Beautiful contrast here, and a great capture of the bird's eye. He looks like a teenager with his unruly feathers and sort of cocky look!

I love your discovery when taking your photos! I shall have to take this on board and try it myself. The colour of this bird is so vibrant - for you to have birds such as this and humming birds as wild animals, I can only imagine what they must be like!

Cool! We do have kingfishers - they're quite colourful, although I've not seen one before. We do have deer though. Rabbits, badgers, squirrels (red and grey), hares and foxes are our local wildlife! I do like them, but yours are always so colourful! I've never ever seen a humming bird, not even in captivity. I think I need to go travelling! Great stuff!

All the hummers have headed south for the winter! There migration is amazing! they will fly to the souther tip of florida and will cross the gulf of mexico! After they get to mexico some will stay there and some will go to central america! They are neat little birds!

Wow, that's quite a distance for such a small bird! I visited Orlando (my first time out of England) last year in July and August - should there have been any around there at that time?

Great shot of this young cardinal Willie. Very nice and sharp. He really has a scruffy look, so different from the adults, lol. Shirley
