this is a very nice macro shot of a female cardinal. The focus is super sharp. The bird has a nice pose. The lighting is natural. The colors are soft and muted.

Thank you so very much! I just have the opertunity to shoot birds! Sometimes I shoot up to 200 shots at one sitting and have been shooting them like this for a couple of years. I guess when you do something often enough you get in practice!

Great shot! I am wondering if you can claim them as dependants, since it must cost a bundle to feed them all year! We only feed in the winter, to help the birds survive the cold. I like the catchlight very much, and the bit of refraction on the beak. Donkeyoatey

Thank you so very much! I go through fifty lbs. a month. It is a small price to pay for these fine friends to stay around here! It also provides me with plenty of photo opps!

Thank you so very much! I use an Olympus E3 camera with a 70-300mm lens also made by Olympus!
