Very pretty shot! I like it! Of course I love the ocean... you could show me water in a bucket and call it the ocean and I would like it. This filter you ran the whole piece through is nice, that is a favorite effect of mine as well. I use it to break up photographs so that I can see tonal range and kinda plan out impressionistic brushstrokes for my paintings. It simplifies the photograph for you. For your work here it tends to help blend the various layers of imagery, although there needed to have been a little more work done to the areas where your mermaids meet the water. Their flow into the ocean isn't natural, and the white blur added to the base of her dress is pretty obvious. That doesn't help your work. Other than that this is a cool, very complete composition.

Thank you very much for your throughout and as usual helpful review. You are an exellent observer, you are right on everything. I know exactly what you mean with the white dress blur. I wished I would have had more time to work the piece; but I almost didn't make it for the contest do to hurricane Rina. Sorry for late reply. Our power/Internet is still on-off.

The picture of the couple was taken long time ago in the film era. Only the picture of the cloudy Caribbean is new.
