Holy cow, Iā??m waiting for the next photo you take look down his throat. lol. This is so close you can see her eyebrows, which I never knew birds had eyebrows. Yep, good texture indeed, always my friend, well done.

Thank you so very much! Birds have two eye lids. There is one the blink which looks like a type of skin then the other set has fethers. The eye brows you speak of is the eye lid edges. I have a few shots where the have blinked and you can see it.

If it does not win it should place toward the top. The light sure helps with showing the texture. Excellent focus and the sunflower sure adds a little more interest.

I do think this great close up of the cardinal displays great texture in her feathers and the seed! I love the variation in color you captured especially around the eye.

This is an amazing picture the way you took it so close up. I like all the detail you see in the feathers. I like the way you see the sunflower seed in her beak. The lighting, focus and overall impact are all excellent. A beautiful and excellent picture. I think the feathers would be classified as texture.

Great shot with superb focus and colour. The cropping really works well, allowing your eye to focus on the main areas of the shot. Love the food in its mouth.

another great shot my friend. I love cardinals. This one feeding is gorgeous. The detail in the feathers is very well captured. Colors are supper. Technically a super shot. STory is very good as always. Lighting is perfect.

Good luck with contest Willie, I like the close up shot and it certainly has a lot of texture. One thing you might try is flipping the photo round as the eye always looks left to right - that way the blank background will be on the left and the point of interest (bird with texture) where the eye ends up. :) Mary
