This work of art really shows how humanity is so wrong and that we are all able to become educated given equal opportunities , and how it hurts to be treated as different. It is excellent in conveying a message. I find the fabrics interesting because of the patterns and movement created by lines and shadows. I am intrigued by the fashion.

you did a really good job on this. i've seen photos of this kind of stuff. but from this it appears that you were there at a scene like this and actually experienced it. great job at depicting the expressions and the jeering mockery and bigotry as well as the tension in the black girls face. nice work here. dave :)

yes i was around then and yes i have seen the attitudes from both sides of the track so to speak. when i hear the noise that things havent change much and they start their speech im thinking to myself of all the laws and rights and attitudes that have changed for the last 50 years..yes things have improved trmendously and we are on newer ground of issues thans stuck in these old ways..glad that you have enjoyed this and do appreciate the great review.

Well done my friend.
Very detailed facial expressions tells it all!
What a dark, ugly time.
And to think that Abe Lincoln, started it all back when he freed the slaves, and not till almost 100 yrs later, we have an African American President. What an ignorant race we are.

actually if you want to back to thomas jefferson..he had at first to refuse to allow the slavery in the constitution but in fear of not uniting the colonies he had to back off..when lincoln introdue the emacip[ation act going into the 2 year of the war. the union army was appalled as well as many nothern cities. as a matter of fact when lincoln annouce that New yorkers storm thru the city in a mob creating riots and looking for any black they could kill or just hurt period. the misconception done by a few certain southern circles(liike the Klan) left the impression that the southerners were the ones who were perscuting blacks but the northeast and midwest were just bad...the only difference the black population was greater in the south..i would have voted for colen powell..i have no objection to any race in the white house..but plain and simple obama on the last election was going against a hero that the youngins seem to dont know or care and the people that back up and work obama i know the history of them and i dont feel secure one bit. not impressed with any other canidates...its like better to have the devil you know than the one you dont know...but at least his election now finally open the doors to other races thans the english andirish decents that have ran this country for many a decades...who knows you might day see a cujun running this country...man that would be a site(to me a vision)...lolk. thanks for your equal support and great review.

Great colors and expressions in this piece. I would have loved to have hung this in my 7th grade classroom when I was teaching. What a great springboard for discussion!

i am moved beyond words. this is such an emotional piece and you have done a wonderful job of capturing the determination, al beit, nervous determination, of Elizabeth, and the vile feelings emanating from the three women behind her - especially the one on the viewer's right with the blue pocketbook. the hatred is palpable. technically the details are outstanding - from the tiniest details in the dresses to the faces. you should be very proud.
