Remind me of the Women's Right Movements. Nicely shaded clothing textures. Although this artwork has a cartoon format, the linked relations to the history is there to be felt.

This is a wonderful image. I have little knowledge of the civil rights movement in the US, since I am a Canadian. What book do you reference? My husband was born in the US but has lived in Canada for over 30 years now. Canada did not have racial issues to the same degree as those in the States, since slavery was illegal here much earlier, most of our blacks were slaves that had escaped and traveled the Underground Railroad to Canada. thanks for sharing. You did a very good job showing the determination in her expression and the hateful prejudice look on the others. Your perspective is very good. Good detail.

Kudos again, Mark. Fabulous! Prejudice is so ugly; you have very well captured that on the faces within the column of hate behind Ms.Eckford. I love that you included various hair colors in the oppressors, which for many will symbolize different ethnics and not just generic "white". Love your detail to era style clothing that helps make this scene come to life. Love the pristine orderliness of trees, building, pavement; all neat and clean, tidy and "nice". A veneer of upright sophistication, in sharp contrast to the crowds mood and expression. Thank you for paying tribute to these young folks who bravely stepped up to the battle line of discrimination that blindly controlled so much of the nation during this era. Thank you also for your excellent notes that pointed out an important landmark happening in US equality rights history that may viewers may not have been known about or considered until now. Wonderful tribute to Martin Luther King Day, too. Excellent artistry, excellent message!
