Great mixed media piece, Cleo. I like the blends of multiple images to create a conceptualized piece. The little girl's expression in the piece really drives home the emotional draw. Nice contrasty tone and mood portrayed.

Real food for thought! You have thought this out well. I want to put my arms out for the child. Fantastic work.

Hello friend, that is one very wonderful presentation and so well done. I really like what you have done with it. I like the message as well, powerful! I also would like to learn that technique, is it difficult to do?
I enjoyed, LOyd

Thank you very much. No the technique is not easy and it needs time and patience to learn and to work with it. I work in mixed media for 12 years now and I am still learning. There is no general guideline how to do it. here are many programs out and each one is different. I used three of my programs for this piece. You could check out different programs on line. You may check out photo explosion, a program I like. Do you have already a photo editing program? Many of basic editing programs provide mixed media tools as well. If you have trouble working with your program feel free to ask. If I know the program I may be able to help.

Nice job. Good composition with the various elements of war depicted. The girl has a very sad and confused look. The symbols of war, soldiers, crossbow?, barbed wire, burning town, smoke are all there.

Good consistent sharpness and good balance between the various items. Of course, excellent (or should I say bad storytelling.

It would be wonderful to rid the world of war but at times I wonder if war is not burned deeply into the human phyche. We continue to want power, riches, and to impose our belief system on others.

Thank you for your deep thought review These are crosses, as symbol for the soldiers who never will come home.
It makes one think of course, all light in life has a dark opposite, good and evil, peace and war...it seems to be bread into human. It would be wonderful if we would change...We could try, couldn't we?

I wish and pray that we can change but age is turning me into a cynic.

    Understandable.

How many thousand years of no change, it must be in our DNA to self destruct. I would have thought that peace, humanity, and a better life for all should be the more powerful forces and that beauty and light should vanquish
    the darkness.

I guess that all we can do is to keep chipping away at the monolith of evil and know that we tried.

I think what we most need is education; and I do not mean only in third world countries. I still get amazed and shocked what people know and don't know. Its the emptiness inside the heads what allows to be filled with the wrong ideologies.

One of my favorite TV things is on Jay Leno when he asks people on the street simple things and they have no clue. If its not sports or the current hot people, the general population is very ignorrant of about everything.

very nice job on this war and peace photo, the child in this photo really hits home, and the action in the background, good luck in the contest!

Hi Cleo: Your image is marvelous and thoughts no more felt then you. Very expresive mesage through excellent color, composition and impact. In all wars more innocents are killed, injured by both sides then combatants.

Been away from my art but found one can leave the art but ones art never leaves: Call it Art loves you always. Something very Meta Physical in it's connection. Thanks for sharing,
Dave, (bunkie)

A very eye catching image which does a fine job of summarising the many dreadful effects of war. Like the soulful look on the young girls face set against the raging inferno. To me no more is needed. An excellent work well done!
