impact 5 color 5 light 5
technical 5 like the story 5- mine is if they are out side in 35 degree weather standing on a corner for money for their mothers' funeral you bet I give them more than some change. I used to give the vets my change but son says there are all sorts of programs for them; but, some need help getting the medicare because of the paperwork or other assistance. Hard to get a job when you dont have a permanent address as well. Some of the people I have seen lived in their cars. Great journalism.

I have never commented on a drawing because I know less than nothing about it. But if the background was a rundown shack this would look a lot like a photograph taken during the depression by Julia Cameron. At least that is my recollection. A very poignant image in my opinion.

AWESOME WORK & TRUE STORY! I'm going to show this work to all the people that I can. Yes, I have been fighting this battle to educate people about homelessness. There are some terrible stereotypes out there that need to be erased. The strengths of this work are: Emotion, Color, Harmony, Economy of Space. Thanks for having the courage to share your work! I will be talking about homelessness on my radio show soon! Keep people in the reality that homelessness can happen to anyone. We all have a vested interest in helping each other out! HOPE is an anchor for us all! Thanks! Carl Childs

Mark,this is an outstanding
statement that you made about
the homeless.I'm sure that all
of us have seen many in our
lives.This really reaches out
and tugs at the heartstrings.
The worry on the face of this
Mother can be "felt" and the
same can be said for the child,
without having to see their
face.It's a perfectly created
entry for this contest.Artist
ically,kudos on the colors and
also the great shading in the
clothing.Having done it using
pointillism,really shows my
eyes how expert you are.I also
high five you for expressing
your feelings on this subject.
Best of Luck Mark~
Angelheart :)

We gave plenty of the, here after the typhoon Haiyan. Until now they're still living in tents or in the gyms or covered courts.
Long way to go before they will be back in the comfort of their homes.
Thought provoking.
Melancholic.
Nostalgic.
Thanks for sharing.

I love your style-- and this speaks volumes to all nations and all creeds. We all know what the situation is, some of us have been there. You portray her worries clearly and add the desperation by the head drooping on her shoulder. I applaud the way you have admitted that women rule the roost in this short, sharp, straight talking pic. I love your style-- It really works. Great stuff.

I love this very powerful composition, enhanced by the bit of road, which makes me think of the car this lady does not have. The expression on her face is so strong despite adversity and the relationship with the little boy is so sad, She has her back to him though she clearly loves him. I think she is at the end of her tether because she cannot feed him properly. If this is not what you are saying , sorry, but I think this is a fantastic piece of emotional art, Thankyou. Mairi
