Very nice capture! There are reasons photographers keep their camera with them at all times! The colors are beautiful and the cropping is interesting. Clarity and lighting are also well done! Nice work, Sherry

This is a great tight shot. Nicely focused to capture all the sharp details. Catching the blink is amazing. Nicely colored composition.

Very nice portrait of this heron. That pose is about perfect, love that eye with those vertical striations. The subject almost appears to be at attention. Love the sweep of the neck that end in a horizontal bill.

The colors are great, that blue background with the black lines is non competing, sets off the subject and defines the environment.

Excellent sharpness and detail. Personal preference but I would like to see about 1/3 of the headspace cropped.

Great image.

Wow! Stunningly high initial impact, and this is due almost exclusively to the flawless focus on the eye and how well its gold contrasts with the blue background. In retrospect that's kind of a small thing, but wow! If there's one thing this photo has taught me, it's that the tiny things in a composition can have the biggest impacts! But yeah, your focus all across your subject is great, from the fuzz on the end of the beak down to the dark gray feathers at the bottom of the frame... perfect focusing and great shutter speed... REALLY love that you shot ISO 400 without picking up extraneous grain -- probably credited to your properly exposed shooting! Contrast looks great with the colors appearing natural, and I like how the depth and light appears natural... the subject is separated from the background well but is not separated in an unnatural way. Smooth light and a moderate depth of field have accomplished this very well! Beautiful work, thanks for sharing!

I would never have noticed the fuzziness. I love the background color against his head. He looks like he is posing for you. I am glad you were able to sneek up on him. You have a great picture here.

Thank you so very much! I do most of my shooting through the open car window! You can get closer to them!

Great shot, Willie. It is rare to get such a clear concise close up. We live on a lake in Glendale Arizona and see these guys perch on our boat and make a mess. They are fascinating to watch when they fish. They move so fast...
