Oh I do love this bird! It almost looks like he's smirking. Love the expression. Wonderful clarity and sharpness. Composed well. Good colors and tones. Nice and clear to see all the details in his (or her) face. Well done.

very sharp, good exposure and pose, cropping provides adequate space in front of bird -- if anything, too much, I think you could crop to double the space behind the bird. You were well stopped down so you have a lot of DOF -- too bad since I'd have liked to have seen the background blurred so the bird stands out more. Fortunately, his coloration is very different.

I like the right composition with space in front of the heron showing the way to the waters edge and the three horizontal zones. That gives interest to the picture.

All kidding aside the shot is beautiful.The focus really shows off those beautiful feathers. LOve the fact you caught this guy walking. The foot in the air adds a lot of interest to the image. The lighting is super.
